Advanced Science

USM-RIKEN Interdisciplinary Collaboration for Advanced Science (URICAS), formerly known as USM-RIKEN International Centre for Ageing Science, was established as a collaborative program by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and RIKEN, Japan to undertake interdisciplinary research.

The research theme for the first five years (2015-2020) focused on ageing science, and in the second phase of URICAS (2021-2025) has broadened its research scope to cover ageing, metagenomics, microbial metabolomics engineering, developmental biology, particle physics, muon science, machine learning, and LED technology.
